Preparation of grilled cheese differs from country to country. While Americans use a frying pan, grilled cheese is prepared in a toasted sandwich maker in the UK. Among the total fats, total quantity of saturated fats is 10.7g while that of polyunsaturated fats is 3.1g and monounsaturated fat is 6.8 g. Protein content in a grilled cheese sandwich is 17.1 g. Since cheese is a derivative of milk, a grilled cheese sandwich also has abundant calcium levels. Total calcium content in 100 gms of cheese sandwich is 437 mg while the sodium content is 581 mg. It also contains 1.6 g of fiber, 43mg of cholesterol and 0.7 mg of iron.
